DIY: Pie in a Jar

but I'm wondering how the crust comes out when cooked in glass, won't it stick to the jar?

Hi Cristina,

I've used glass pie plates for years. Mine came with a matching glass lid to cover the finished pie, but you can also find the plates without lids. You can also find pretty, colorful ceramic pie pans if the inexpensive aluminum pans aren't your style.

In either case, the crust bakes and the doughy consistency is transformed into flaky layers. In this instance, you eat the pie directly from the glass jar.

Shauna thanks for explanations, we don't have much of "pie culture" here in Italy ;-)
I always use aluminium pans, but I'll try this nice recipe in glass!
