Confetti Cake

I love how simple, modern, and fun this cake by Sugarhouse Cake is. The dot motif ties in perfectly with the confetti dots on the invite and the topper also matches the invite graphic.

Dessert Table: Donut Wedding Shower

When couples plan a co-ed shower, it's nice to have treats that everyone can love. Let's face it, not many guys swoon for finger foods and tea. This shower featured on A Beautiful Mess focused on a donut dessert table, which is perfect! A chalkboard backdrop labels the different varieties so guests aren't left guessing.
Inviting kids to the festivities? Even better, because they'll love 'em, too.

DIY Popsicle Memory Game

This came along at the perfect time. I was at Target earlier today looking for games for my little one and came out of the store unsuccessful. Well, lo and behold, Eat Drink Chic saves the day with this printable, DIY popsicle memory game. Isn't this the most adorable thing?
Be sure to swing by Eat Drink Chic to download your free popsicle templates and surprise a little girl with this super cute twist on a classic game.

Sweet Idea: Thor Thunder n Lightning Birthday Party

This is such a cute collection of party favors that one little boy's talented aunt put together for his 5th birthday. Finds like this are reasons why I love Pinterest. Designer/illustrator Erin Jang of Indigo Bunting even made temporary tattoos to fit the party's theme. Isn't that genius?!

Yummy Costume Ideas

Ok, so many of you probably remember the donut costume I made for my little one last year.
The year before, I made her a really cute owl costume complete with a mask that had brown and pink feathers. This year, I'm not sure what to craft for her so I'm on the lookout for cute ideas. Obviously, for this blog, I thought I'd round up some of the edible ones I've come across.

This Lemontree Creations DIY cupcake costume is so cute, and you don't have to sew anything! That's right up my alley.
I thought about making her a gingerbread girl using a brown fleece-y suit, but this cookie sheet idea is pretty funny.
There are several DIY tutorials online for this costume.
Of course, I'm still weighing some non-edible options, too. What are you guys (or your kids/pets) dressing up as for Halloween?

Recipe: Mint Chocolate Chip Cake

Start with a Devils Food cake to create this cake from Raspberri Cupcakes that's reminiscent of an ice cream classic. I love the upturned cones on top, and think it'd be genius if they we in fact baked with cupcakes inside. In this recipe, there isn't a cupcake inside the cones, they are just scoops of icing with a cone placed on top. But that's an easy enough upgrade that you could do.

Dessert Table: Robin Hood Birthday

I've never even thought of this theme for a party, but it's got lots of cute possibilities. Imagine a woodsy, bows and arrow filled spread. Tout Mon Amour created this adorable design for Kara's Party Ideas, and I love the idea of swapping Mentos labels for wanted poster style wraps.
Aren't those cookies great?!

Dessert Meets Design: Mansion Matrimony

This past weekend, I had the pleasure of creating a dessert table for Kris and Gary's wedding at Cedarhurst Mansion. I had the pleasure of working with the team at Fab.You.Lous Events again and meeting photog Paige Winn who shot these lovely pics.

For this design, I replicated the couple's invitation on their chocolate bars, and offered custom cookies that featured their monograms and the unique heart symbol from their invites. I designed purple towers to vary the heights of sweets and showcase several varieties of cupcakes and macarons. Chocolate-dipped brownie bites, Neapolitan whoopie pies, and dessert shooters sat alongside cake pops.
Just to give you an idea of some of the other great details from this event, check out some of Paige's other pics.
Thank you to Buttercream and Sugar & Flour for your yummy contributions.

Lilac Ombre Cake

This cake makes me so happy. It's obviously got an ombre effect on the tiers, but a cut slice reveals a coordinated ombre inside as well. Kate Miller Events and Sarah Maren Photographers teamed up to create this lovely shoot for Style Me Pretty. These shades of soft purple with the luminous background add such a sunlit beauty to the display. And don't forget to check out the deliciously simple way the stylist dressed up water goblets. Rock candy sticks are such a great touch.

Dessert Table: French Fete

This month's issue of MSW features a couple's French-inspired dessert table. I love the idea of a dessert table that focuses all of the treats on a specific region or country's foods. This one showcases a croquembouche, macarons, and madeleines. Mini eclairs and tarts round out the selections.
This is a great idea if you want a dessert table that reflects your heritage or maybe a city/country that has special meaning to you and your family. A table with traditional German, Italian, or African sweets would definitely provide some unusual options that would keep your guests interested.

Sweet Idea: Virtual Baby Shower

A bunch of food bloggers across the blogosphere decided to throw a virtual baby shower for fellow blogger Maria of Two Peas and Their Pod. Each blogger baked or made a baby-themed treat for the shower, and shared the pics and recipes online to help Maria and her hub welcome their new baby.

These elephant cookies and favor bags from Sweetopia are too cute. You can even download the labels for yourself.
TidyMom created these cake balls.
I Am Baker contributed this cute cake.
Sweetapolita created these pea cookie pops. Adorable, right?
These aren't all of the sweets at this onine-only party. Be sure to check out everyone's dessert contributions.
