Sweet Idea: Neon Geometric Ombre Cake

It doesn't get much more awesome than this when it comes to wedding cakes. It manages to encompass three trends, geometric shapes, neon colors, and ombre gradients, while remaining sophisticated and beautiful. It's easy for a cake to get so trendy and colorful that it looks more like something in a fun house.

Sweet Idea: DIY Candy Sushi

I've never thought about a little sushi party for kiddo, but these adorable DIY candy sushi are making me think of at least stuffing a little bento box full of them for her to have for lunch one day. Look at those bright bundles!

I love that these simple jelly candies and marshmallows can come together to make sugary replicas of sushi. Wouldn't this be a fun kid's party theme?

Arranged on a tray like this, the "sushi" is colorful and modern with mostly white bases and pops of vibrant pink, orange, yellow, and green. Red and black licorice strands tie each bundle together.

Sweet Idea: Sweets Between the Sheets

This is the BEST way to pamper a mom-to-be. I mean, I would never turn down desserts in bed, but I have a feeling that a pregnant lady would really love to find this lovely tray of macarons, chocolates, and a chocolate-y drink instead of a mint on her pillow. Wouldn't a "desserts in bed" shower be a fab idea?

I'm not pregnant, but I'm still thinking a sugar fest in bed is in order.

Sweet Idea: Popsicle and Ice Cream Printables

I never get tired of dessert imagery. Ever. I practically squealed with cuteness overload when I saw a pair of popsicle pajama pants at Target for kiddo. Why, oh why, didn't them make some in my size?!?
I'm ok. I'm ok. Deep breath.
Well, I guest I'll just have to get my fix from other adorable dessert graphics, like these, these, and these gift tags that Amy Moss designed for Oh Happy Day.

Sweet Idea: Vellum Dot Favors

Today was another full day on set to shoot some Confetti Pop projects. If you aren't following me on Instagram, swing over and check out some of the behind-the-scenes pics. It's a mad house with my two kids and Maddy's kid on set. I figured I'd end the day with a little bit of prettiness that didn't involve babies stealing macarons or kids "helping" style the cupcakes. Enjoy!

Hello, huge vellum polka dots! I'm loving both of these favor boxes, but I think the pink is my favorite. What's yours?

Sweet Idea: DIY Vintage Knot Backdrop

A great dessert table backdrop is the finishing touch to a display of sweets. This DIY Tying the Knot ombré backdrop is a mix of lots of different types and shades of fabric for a fun, vintage vibe.

Sweet Idea: Fancy Popsicles

What summer-y treat has basil, mint, and rosemary in the mix? Grown-up popsicles, of course! I'm loving these punchy popsicle pics (see what I did there with the "P" alliteration?) from Fun.kyti.me for Memorial Day. Why blend up fruit when adding them whole makes such a pretty, modern pop? And let's face it, sometimes I'm not in the mood to pull out and clean up the blender.

Check out Fun.kyti.me for recipes for these fancy frozen favorites (I'm in an alliteration mood today, I guess.). There's even one for a mojito pop. Mmmm!

Sweet Idea: Bold Cakes

You can't go wrong with cake. Ever. I've seen them all: tall, short, fondant-draped, frosting-covered, everything. And, it's not very often that you come across really bold, saturated colors. Pastels? Sure. Ribbons and bows? Yes. But in your face color? Not all that often, especially for weddings. So I'm loving these CCCW beauties by Katherine Hill for their unexpected hues.
What do you think of these bold cakes? Check out more sweet images here.

Sweet Idea: Color Blocked Marshmallows

Who knew marshmallows could be so fantastically pretty? These color dipped ones are surprisingly simple. Marshmallows, food coloring, and water. That's it!

Sweet Idea: Gilded Animal Place Card Holders

I made these place card holders for Confetti Pop and our crafting assistant's gender reveal party. They're wonderful in several ways. They're easy to replicate, they're inexpensive (only $2.50 each), they've got golden accents, and they dress up a dessert table in the most fab way.
You can use these for all kinds of great parties. Check out the tutorial to get the DIY details for yourself!
