DIY Gold Typography Pumpkins for Thanksgiving

My neighbors already have their lights up. One of my best friends put up three, yes three, Christmas trees inside her house before Halloween. By now, she's probably put up her other four trees. I know it's tempting to bust out the winter-y holiday decorations, but I'm savoring the fall festivities. These DIY Gold Foil Typography Pumpkins are gonna wow my Turkey Day guests. Thanksgiving Printable Pie Labels Pt II

Ok, so if leftover pie isn't your thing, you can still get in on the labeling fun. These free printables label the goods before the guests dig in, so they can avoid any unpleasant surprises. To this day, one of my friends is traumatized that she bit into a pumpkin pie thinking that it was sweet potato. The feud between her taste buds and pumpkin puree continues.

Dessert Meets Design: Beautiful Bounty Dessert Table

Hello, caramel frosting! I'm knee-deep in Thanksgiving prep, and Confetti Pop is no different. Our Beautiful Bounty shoot is a foxy feast for the eyes. Check out the amber and olive hues of the dessert table, which the fab Melissa Oholendt (who looks exactly like Emma Stone) photographed. Danielle Erickson of Studio Fleurette worked her usual floral magic. Pumpkin scones, chocolate-dipped coconut macaroons, and gingerbread cookies all create a home-y, comforting flavor profile.

My girl Cyd of The Sweetest Occasion also featured more great shots of the dining tablescape, and Confetti Pop has two tutorials of the fab DIYs.

And yes, this popcorn and several mini salted caramel cupcakes made it into my mouth during the shoot. Don't judge me.

Dessert Table: Sweet Breakfast

Even though everyone's looking forward to a feast tomorrow for dinner, there's no rule that you can't start the day off with a festive breakfast.

The Hostess with the Mostess featured this City Cradle shoot. Little white pumpkins filled with pancakes are perfect for the early risers, while bundt cakes are a great snack for the college students who sleep until noon.

Think you'll be too busy to make pancakes in the morning? Make your batter the night before.

Have a great Thanksgiving everyone! Eat an extra piece of pie for me.

Fresh Palette: Thanksgiving

If you remember this Valentine's dessert table or this Fall dessert table I designed, then you know I like to use unexpected color palettes for holidays and seasons. This year, I think a fresh red and purple palette is perfect for Thanksgiving. So, here are a few images that are great inspirational starting points.

A small table or bench is a great place to display pre-dinner snacks like cheeses, crackers, grapes, and glasses of cider. That will keep hungry guests satisfied while you put the finishing touches on the main course. It will also eliminate the dreaded, "Is it ready yet? I'm starving."

Pomegranates are in season and are the best shade of deep red. Set one on each guest's plate with a handwritten greeting on a little slip of paper.

Who says you have to have turkey at Thanksgiving? If you're in the mood for a no-mess, stress-free holiday, consider Chinese takeout. Served your favorite dishes on beautiful china, rather than paper boxes, to infuse a more formal feel.

Twig & Thistle posted these simple acetate boxes filled with Smores ingredients and adorned with twine. They are fabulously easy, great favors for your Thanksgiving or wedding guests to take home. They can be made all the better by adding gourmet marshmallows that will really wow 'em. These pineapple coconut lovelies would add a sophisticated, chic twist to a childhood classic, while Jack Daniels flavored ones would make perfect favors for the groomsmen.

Very Crusty, Thanksgiving Style

I thought pie options applied only to fillings. You're as likely to find a pumpkin pie or apple variety at the Thanksgiving table as you are a pecan. But I never realized that the crusts themselves could vary so much. Cluster the pies around simple bowls of fruit and candles for the guests who want something a little more healthy for dessert to create an easy tablescape. A display this lovely would be a show-stopper on an all-pie dessert table. These almost look too good to eat. Almost.

The Kids' Table: Thanksgiving

I can't take any credit for this great inspiration board. The Party Dress Blog posted this fabulous kids' table idea, which is perfect for Thanksgiving. The kids could even get involved in making their own napkin rings, headpieces, and "Give Thanks" centerpiece. This would make the kids table the place to be.
