Dessert Table: Sunny Days Will Come Again

This weekend will probably be the last warm one in Minnesota. As it is, I'm shocked we've made it to November with nearly 60 degree days. This Bloom Designs dessert table is like the embodiment of summer, and will be perfect to come back to when the drab days of impending winter seem endless. A little cake, some candy, and layered popsicles? Mmmm, just perfect.

Dessert Meets Design: Modern Man

Just check out these truffles! Last Fall, I designed this modern yellow, grey, and white dessert table for Zoe and Josh. It was my first experience working with a really involved groom, and Josh was great. In fact, he made every selection, and the dessert table was really a surprise for his bride. He knew what he wanted, and I think the table's overall design reflects a more masculine, modern vibe than some of my other work. My girl Kirsten of Fab Events designed the rest of the event and photog Emma Freeman took these lovely pics.

The design included graphic truffles, macarons, S'mores cupcakes, cake pops, and a custom cupcake tower that I designed to house the mini varieties.
I love when a guy backs stereotype and actually cares about the wedding details. So sweet!

Dessert Table: Graphic Goodness

Photographer Mylene Chung of Photo Kitchen captured this bold dessert table by Diana Louise "Punky" Porca. It's not often that you see this black, white, and yellow palette for a wedding, but the bridal couple made a daring, gorgeous choice.
This design is proof that a dessert table doesn't have to be elaborate or full of exotic desserts to be a bold centerpiece for any event. The color palette does most of the work here. Graphic black and white gets a burst of color from punches of intense yellow.
Be sure to check out Mylene's post for even more sweet pics of Punky's dessert table.

Dessert Table: Birthday Bliss

For my family, July means birthday bonanzas. My mom, aunts, husband, mother-in-law, a couple of cousins, and I all have birthdays this month. Usually, we'd have one joint celebration with a variety of treats for all of the birthday guests and friends. In essence, Gram made a July dessert table every year.

When I saw this pretty pink and yellow birthday table by Holamama featured on Birthday Girl, it made me nostalgic for all of those past celebrations and it also made me imagine what it would have been like to have an entire dessert table all for myself filled with cupcakes, cookies, and candies. A girl can still dream...
Remember paper chains made from interconnected rings of construction paper? I love the idea of using them as a backdrop. What a simple DIY project. Even the birthday girl could join in the decor fun.

Dessert Table: Pretty Peacock

Style Me Pretty featured this gorgeous peacock blue dessert buffet as part of their Inspiration to Reality series. Blue, gold, and green macarons are perfect additions to the three cakes on this lovely table.

Dessert Table: Vintage Sunshine

This sunny dessert table featured on The Sweetest Occasion is one of the brightest and cheeriest I've seen. I love the few splashes of aqua mingled in with the white and yellow to add a cool, vintage vibe. The little tissue pom poms look like sunbursts. Photographer Nicole Hill Gerulat took full advantage of the natural light streaming into the room.
Sweet & Saucy Shop designed this beauty for the In The Now Weddings + Events bash.

Dessert Table: Pink and Yellow

I love this sunny, bright dessert buffet featured on Creature Comforts. This circus-themed table is simple, but pretty. Better yet? You can get the printable drink labels here.

Wheely Fun!

Reader, and fellow blogger, Sharnel sent me these fun photos from her son's fourth birthday party. The blue and green dessert buffet had a pinwheel theme and lots of DIY touches.

Dessert Table: Yellow & Pale Blue

This wedding featured on Style Me Pretty is so cheery and sunny. The yellows and pale blues are an unusual, but gorgeous color palette. The scheme is further developed with small accents of red and white. Check out the charming candy table set up by the bride.

Dessert Table: Baa Baa Baby

This little lamb themed baby shower by Delphine Ephemera is too adorable to pass by without a closer look. A citron, lemon, and lime color palette make the gender neutral event lively and youthful, which is perfect for a baby celebration. Custom lamb labels turn candy bars into conversation pieces. Gummies, meringues, and cupcakes round out the offerings.
