DIY Fringe Advent Tree and Sequin Ornaments

Just when you thought sequin ornaments couldn't get any better, we went put candy inside. We dressed up simple treats and sweets with these DIY sequin favor pouches. And, we just couldn't stop there, so  we made them part of this advent calendar and slapped them on a pink fringe Christmas tree. So, here we go. It's Confetti Pop Craftsmas Day 5, and this is the most fab advent ever!

Edible Advent Calendar

Hopefully you liked this morning's fourth day of the 10 Days of Craftsmas post, which Jen of Green Wedding Shoes kindly shared with her readers. I'm back with another sweet countdown idea. Although it's a little too far into December to recreate this delicious advent calendar for 2010, all of the different favor boxes are too clever to keep them all to myself.
As with all advent calendars, this one counts down the twenty-five days until Christmas. This favor fest features a new treat and a new label every day. It doesn't get much better than that.
Want to recreate this idea for next year or your next event? Check out the Envelopments Tarte favor boxes here.

Tomorrow, I'll be back with pictures of the dessert table I designed for my daughter's birthday. We'll also end the week with the fifth installment of our 10 Days of Craftsmas series. See you then!

If you're  joining the Craftsmas fun midstream, be sure to check out all of the projects in this holiday DIY series here.

A Sweet Christmas Countdown

It's December 1st, and that means only a few short weeks until Christmas. While there are a lot of cute advent calendar ideas floating around the blogosphere right now, Epicurious' Christmas cookie countdown is my favorite way to mark the 25 days.
I know tackling all 25 is probably out of the question, so here are a few of my favorites. These lemon cookies come dressed for the season when coated with colored sanding sugar.
Stained glass ornament cookies are deceptively simple to make.
Don't have the time to make the ornaments? These chocolate sandwich cookies are rolled in peppermint candies to deliver all the holiday oomph without the holiday hassle.

For all of you who loved my Fall dessert table and yesterday's seasonal display, be sure to come back tomorrow for a truly winter-y sugar fest.

Swing by later today for a sweet kickoff to Hanukkah, which starts today.
