DIY Gold Typography Pumpkins for Thanksgiving

My neighbors already have their lights up. One of my best friends put up three, yes three, Christmas trees inside her house before Halloween. By now, she's probably put up her other four trees. I know it's tempting to bust out the winter-y holiday decorations, but I'm savoring the fall festivities. These DIY Gold Foil Typography Pumpkins are gonna wow my Turkey Day guests. Dessert Table: Green Goddess Dressing

This glittery dessert display is dressed head-to-toe in green and gold. From cakes, cupcakes, and cake pops to macarons and truffles, this entire Minted & Vintage display is just lustre'd up loveliness. Mr. Haack captured the sheen in living color.

Dessert Table: Gold, Green, and Vintage Glam

After a day on set for Confetti Pop, I was happy to scroll through my Pinterest feed and find this framed dessert display. Ruffled blog featured this Wizard of Oz inspired shoot, and photog Sandy Tam capture The Sweetere's treats wonderfully. If you've seen my LOVE dessert table, then you know I like a good frame backdrop. Here, the frames also make a debut on the gold and green glitter cake.

Cupcakes and cake pops accompany the vintage-inspired cake. Yum! Simple glitter hearts make great cupcake toppers.

Dessert Meets Design: Sequins & Champagne Dessert Table

A couple of months ago, Jen, Sarah, and Tara invited me to join them and some other talented ladies for a fun, graphic bridal shoot. I brought the sweets, of course, and we got to work. Today, Ruffled featured our shoot so I can finally share it with you.

Bold black and white was accented with gold ribbon and a tissue tassel garland. I used the Armato stationery's champagne bubble motif to inspire the custom popcorn boxes and chocolate wrappers I designed. Here's are the paper goods. 

I also created a cake topper of gold, glitter that was reminiscent of the invite's champagne bubbles. White chocolate truffles were customized with gold sanding sugar, while gold gum balls added youthful fun to the table.

Dessert Table: Macarons at Midnight!

It's that time of year, and another one is nearly over. 2013 is right around the corner, so my thoughts turn to glitter, sweets, and the big countdown. Last year, we participated in a progressive dinner for NYE. A ton of scheduling conflicts have kept us from doing a repeat, but I'm still in the mood for some yummy midnight macarons. Jade & Matthew Take Pictures captured this Gray Harper Event Maker dessert table filled with mini-champagne, colored popcorn, and sparkler topped macarons in all its festive sparkle.

What are you doing for New Year's? I think we'll be just hanging out at home doing a movie marathon once the kids are asleep.

Sweet Idea: Art Deco Cakes

These gilded cakes by Lael Cakes are towers of Art Deco delight. I love gold accented sweets, which you probably guessed if you saw my Graphic + Glitz design. Even if you can only add something simple like gold candy, it really stands out.

It's been a while since I've featured a dessert table that showcases the dresser trend, but this one from Jenna Rae Cakes is the perfect addition to the group. With a heavy emphasis on balloons, the fringe cake pop flags and golden streamers are simple, but pretty accents.

Golden Quilled Cake

I've always been fascinated by quilling. The idea of taking simple strips of paper and transforming them into 3D art is just so cool to me. And I must admit, my Graphic & Glitz dessert table still has gold food on my mind. Imagine my joy when I found this Sweet and Saucy cake that combines the art of quilling with edible gold. In case you're not familiar with quilling, here are a few examples.

On an unrelated note, I'd like to thank all of you for your kind words and positive responses to my latest dessert table. Several of you have asked for info about how I made the chalkboard cookies, and I'll try to put together a tutorial soon. Some of you have also asked where you can buy the chevron patterned favor bags. I designed them myself, so unfortunately they aren't available in stores. I'm gearing up for wedding season, so things are a little bit hectic right now, but I'll definitely put that on my to-do list. I'm so glad you guys liked my Graphic & Glitz design!
