Happy Birthday, Baby! & A Holiday Table Challenge

You might recognize one of these images from my recent Star Tribune interview, but today I'm going to share this entire winter-y design with you. I recently designed this dessert table for my little donut's birthday.

In the midst of planning the design, Kelly of The Party Dress invited me and several other bloggers to participate in her Holiday Table Challenge. Needless to say, I thought this unconventional color palette would be a fitting addition to her holiday themed table posts.

Even though my little one is a winter baby, I didn't want to rely on traditional red and green colors for her party. I designed custom cookie favors, chocolate bars, and popcorn boxes using a snowflake or peppermint stripe pattern in a red, pink, and fuschia palette. The cake's pink hue graduated from palest pink to a rosy blush shade, while snowflake 2s cascaded down the front. I created these white evergreen tree favor boxes for guests to take goodies home.
Remember the Gingerbread Place Cards from the second day of the 10 Days of Craftsmas? I used the remnant dough to make these sugar-topped gingerbread snowflakes. I designed a custom snowflake and peppermint stripe paper pattern, which I used on these favor bags.
As I mentioned on days three and four of the 10 Days of Craftsmas, decor elements like Felt Ribbon Wreaths and Merry Mistletoe can add a finishing touch to a dessert table design. Here, I created doily snowflakes. They drifted and twirled above the table, creating a dynamic display.
My kiddo loved munching on her birthday treats. Visit The Party Dress to see Kelly's post and the rest of the Holiday Table Challenge submissions here. As sweet as this event was, I have another great post in store. Be sure come back later today to check out the fifth project in the 10 Days of Craftsmas series.
